Fraser guided fishing has had an interesting end to the summer season with angler from far and wide, we had the pleasure of hosting Dr Suzuki, world famous angler from japan and owner of the ‘fisherman brand’ company, as usual longtails have been in good numbers and will continue for a few months yet.

The past month has been super busy with several FGF boats out each week, the bay is fishing well with some good captures of longtail, mack tunas, mackeral ,trevally and queenfish.on poppers, stickbaits and fly, heres a few pics.

The guys booked for a day hunting longtails in the bay and caught fish on stickbaits,poppers,plastics and jigs, after a slow start, plenty of bustoffs in the deep water on jigs we found longtail tuna feeding in vast schools, only too easy to catch on some days!

The hervey bay flats have been fishing well for big golden trevally and the odd GT and queenfish, Tarrin a regular client from the sunshine coast landed one of the best Goldens for the season on fly and fought a big Giant Trevally for over 1 hour before a shark prematurely ended the fight, what a shame!

Yellowfin and sharks

The last few weeks has seen quite a few schools of yellowfin tuna up to 25kg feeding on the surface in the bay, poppers, plastics and stickbaits have been getting some great bites, sharks are also in big numbers taking many fish after a lengthy fight.

World record

Mark Weeks from Tokyo booked for a chance at a record longtail tuna in hervey bay and after landing a ‘too close to call’ fish that was released he landed an 18.2 kg fish on 8kg tippet smashing the old record by 5.2kg, well done Mark, here’s a few pics of the past week.

As of 2012 we are expanding to fish new areas further north along the queensland coastline, This is the new 6 meter galeforce, fitted with a 140 suzuki four stroke,the boat has a long range fuel tank for extended trips, lowrance HDS 10 sonar with structure scan and is licenced to carry up to 4 anglers.

The last week has seen some reasonable flats fishing, only average numbers of fish but they are big, shallow water golden trevally and queenfish on fly have been great fun.
